Your escape to the Scottish Highlands

Welcome to Tulach, our beautiful cottage in Highland Perthshire with outstanding views of the glorious Perthshire countryside. This is truly the heart of Scotland, an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich history and plenty to do. Tulach is a detached cedarwood chalet-style cottage, with a large garden. We are located one mile from historic Blair Castle in Blair Atholl, in an idyllic location in the hamlet of Glenfender. Blair Atholl itself is just off the A9, which is the main road north. It is also a stop on the main London to Inverness train line. Edinburgh Airport is approximately 70 miles away.

The cottage sleeps 4/5. There are two bedrooms—a double and a twin—and there is also a small double sofabed. Each bedroom has crisp white bedding and plenty of rugs and blankets. The cosy double aspect living room benefits from an open fire and wonderful views, in paticular from the large picture windows.  There is a Chromecast-enabled flat screen TV with satellite channels and integrated DVD.  You will find a selection of DVDs, as well as plenty of books, with a Scottish theme. The bathroom is decorated with gorgeous 'Naranja' tiles (as featured on Grand Designs) and comes with an electric shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen is large and well equipped and includes a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.  The kitchen enjoys truly wonderful views - enjoy with coffee in the morning or a wee dram in the evening!

Children are especially welcome. They will love the garden and will hopefully spot some red squirrels in the trees!

Well-behaved pets  are also welcome.

You will find a wealth of indoor and outdoor activities in Highland Perthshire and beyond. The walking is fantastic and we have a specially prepared guide for walks starting from Tulach. You will find lunch bags and a picnic blanket in the house for your day out in the hills.

"Everything about our stay was great. We stayed over Christmas and Jennifer had decorated the living room with a tree etc so it felt wonderfully festive. Location was stunning with great views in all directions and stunning walks straight from the front door. The local town and village were well appointed and had everything we needed. The kitchen had all the equipment needed (I managed to cook a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings anyway!) Jennifer was a great host and answered any questions really quickly."
"The cottage was wonderful and had everything you could have needed and more. Beautiful scenery and lovely gardens which welcomed many different furry friends. It's often the little things that makes the difference but with all the little things (such as the welcome pack, and the wee drams) already organised, this is the nicest, cleanest and most welcoming home from home we've stayed in. Can't wait to go back! "
"Excellent pre-arrival information and contact with the owner. Fantastic views and the cottage is very private / secluded. Very warm, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Basic supplies on arrival (milk, bread, butter, tea and coffee, biscuits, logs and kindling) much appreciated. We're not whisky drinkers ourselves, but the little decanter of the local tipple was a lovely touch. We intend to return to this cottage."
"We had a lovely stay at Tulach with our dog (who loved it too!). The location is great with lots of lovely walks close by. Jennifer was really helpful with suggestions and advice before our visit and even provided some thoughtful supplies for our arrival. The cottage is cosy with lovely views from the kitchen and decking, very clean and comfortable. We had a lovely time."
"Perfect place"

"Stayed here with my two kids and dog. Accommodation was excellent, couldn't have asked for better. Lovely lounge with coal fire, comfy beds, and beautiful dining kitchen. The views were beautiful too, with lots of deer, and squirrels to be seen. My dog enjoyed the safe enclosed garden, she made the most of her time out there enjoying running around. Lots of nice walks close by and a trip to the falls of bruer a must.”
“We had 3 nights at Tulach & throughly enjoyed it! The kids loved playing in garden which was a great size. Having the open fire was amazing. The house is very modern inside & has everything you'll need for your break away. Lovely drop of whiskey waiting for us as well! We will definitely be going back!"

“A fantastic find. We have used Air bnb in different countries, this is by far the best!! If you are thinking of booking, do it now. Absolutely fabulous. Communication with the host was friendly prompt and very helpful, despite the fact she was out of the country. We were provided with multiple numbers in case we encountered problems during our stay. Our only problem was we did not want to leave. The house is cozy, comfortable and spotless. You will want for nothing. We were left some very thoughtful surprises, (I won't spoil i by telling you, but all very nice). The view from every window is breathtaking. The surrounding area is lovely, there are endless walks of all different lengths and difficulty and cycling trails below. The neighbours were very friendly and welcoming and the garden was the perfect spot for a wee glass of wine as the sun went down. Absolutely perfect."

"We had a fabulous weekend at the cottage. It is in a beautiful location and the gardens are lovely. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The children and dogs loved it. Wonderful walks that you don't have to drive to just head straight out of the cottage. Hopefully we will make it back again."

“Really nice place and great place for the family. Everything is perfect in the house, clean, and nothing is missing. Really calm. We can see a lot of animals all around and in the garden too (squirrels, birds..). Nice walks around the house. The house is well located and not so far from Loch Ness, Edinburgh, Highlands...”

“We stayed here from 29th December for 4 nights, the cottage was lovely and in an amazing location, very welcoming and it has the best fire! Kitchen well equipped and the beds lovely and comfy, we settled in here quickly and had a great 4 days. We had some walkers in our group and you wouldn't find a netter location for all types of walkers nd loads to do in the surrounding area if walking isn't your thing!”

"We stayed at the cottage in November and had a great time with our two dogs. The cosy, clean and well appointed cottage was just the perfect retreat after a day in the beautiful countryside all around. Liked it so much we will be back in the Spring or Summer. Highly recommended. We did enjoy the welcome pack and friendly unobtrusive support arrangements."

“We spent just a few days at Tulach in May but what a wonderful break. Gorgeous views and delightful and cosy cottage. Thank you so much for the welcome goodies and essentials - just the ticket. And we loved the garden. So much to do in the area, lots of fantastic walks and Blair Castle is just down the road. We particularly enjoyed walking up the quiet Glen Fender road behind the cottage - just stunning up there. We will be back! ”

"Faboulous base, great weather and breath-taking locale have left us all feeling decidedly Scottish! Many thanks for everything, it was just what we needed and the photography and astronomy is to die for! Hopefully returning later in the year to this wee gem of a house. Many thanks again.”

"We had a lovely Valentines's long weekend here at Tulach. The welcoming features of milk, bread and wine added that special touch. The views here are superb and the open fire was well used to keep us warm! We will recommend our friends and family to stay here. Thank you.”

“The cottage ticks all the boxes for a relaxing country break, all of your requirements are catered for, from the well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, Internet access and cosy fireplace, I would recommend this cottage gto anyone looking for a base to explore this picturesque area, with local access to excellent walks, will definitely return.”

"We had a great time here at Tulach. We did some nice walks and trips. Blair Castle is beautiful. Pitlochry is nice. We did a walk at Killiecrankie and enjoyed the Queen's view. The house is very convenient. We loved the red squirrels in the garden.”
